The primary commercially produced yoga mats have been constructed from PVC. The primary ?eco-conscious?-labelled mats have been constructed from pure jute and rubber. Increased-priced PVC mats are examined as Oeko-Tex certification AZO and 'DOP' free, and are licensed as latex-free. The Swiss Oeko-Tex Institute has additionally examined some yoga mats as "freed from dangerous substances" and offers Oeko-Tex for some merchandise. Alternatively, yoga mats are constructed from Thermoplastic elastomer, TPE, which is deemed extra environmentally pleasant than PVC. Some yoga mats marketed as "eco-conscious" are product of jute intermixed with a skinny rubber layer for ground grip. Some outside mats are product of bamboo.
